Energy efficiency covers the technologies and practices that reduce energy consumption while maintaining an equivalent end level of performance. There are many advantages: a reduction in fossil fuel imports, lower energy costs, improved living conditions for the population, a smaller environmental impact…

As a major problem in engineering, energy efficiency directly influences a vehicle’s performance and its carbon footprint. By improving the key factors in vehicles’ efficiency, our projects help build the transport of the future.

Urban Starc
Urban Starc

In a vehicle, engine heat that flows through the coolant circuit is recovered and stored in thermal energy storage (TES) equipped with phase-change materials.

The energy stored can be used at any time without a time constraint: heating the passenger compartment or to quickly preheat the engine, or in the house to heat a water heater, for example.

Depending on the driving cycle, Urban Starc can potentially store 25,000 kJ of energy, the equivalent of 0.75 L of fuel recovered as heat, entailing a reduction in CO2 emissions of 17 g/km.

Green Deliriver
Green Deliriver

Green Deliriver is an environmentally friendly riverboat that uses biogas and electricity, integrating technologies for smart goods management. With its hybrid engines, photovoltaic cells and optimised energy management, Green Deliriver has an innovative propulsion system that respects the environment.

The bot switches to “full electric” when in cities to reduce its CO2 emissions and uses biogas in rural areas.

This project also includes a “last kilometre” autonomous module that takes into account decongestion, CO2 emission and noise issues in city centres.


Remora is an innovative sea-based electric energy storage system whose goal is to absorb a region or country’s excess energy production and deliver it over energy networks in periods when energy production is insufficient.
