Ingenious Employee 06.02.2023
Ingenious Employee: Omar Laaouissid, Business Unit Manager

My philosophy:

A smile costs less than electricity, but gives just as much light (L’Abbé Pierre), which is why I always have the joy of living.

My role at SEGULA Technologies:

I hold the position of Business Unit Manager for activities related to the production system and industrialization activities around e-mobility. My role is to support all my colleagues on a daily basis so that they can carry out their activities successfully and guarantee the satisfaction of our clients.

Professional experience:

  • Before joining SEGULA, I was a department manager in the mass retail sector for 7 years before moving on to a position as deputy shop manager in a national sports retailer.
  • In 2013, I joined SEGULA as a logistics technician.
  • In 2015, I was appointed as a business manager for prototype logistics activities for Renault.
  • Since 2018, I have been Business Unit Manager (RBU) for prototype logistics activities. This position allowed me to go to Agadir for 7 months to support the development of local teams.
  • Since July 2021, I have been in charge of the activities around the prototype production system (a turnkey project which aims to manage a Stellantis prototype engine manufacturing unit) and industrialisation.

Training:

I joined SEGULA with a professional degree in management and commercial management. In October 2022, I obtained a Master’s degree in International Business and Development with a focus on International Supply Chain from the University of Paris Dauphine.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank SEGULA for supporting me in this project.

My best project:

  • To have succeeded in evolving within the company. In less than 10 years, I have gone from being a logistics technician to a Business Unit Manager.
  • In July 2020, I had the honour of helping to relaunch our centre of excellence in Agadir by transferring our Renault prototype supply activities, but also of helping SEGULA Morocco to maintain this dynamic activity.
  • In October 2022, I obtained my Master’s degree while at the same time taking up my duties as RBU.

My greatest passion:

  • Sport and more particularly football, I enjoy exchanging and debating with my colleagues at the café about the PSG results.
  • Helping the most disadvantaged and people in difficulty, to do this I am the secretary of a family association with a humanitarian vocation.

Why SEGULA?

Working on a daily basis with talented people from totally different backgrounds is very rewarding.
Team spirit, cohesion, mutual aid and solidarity are values that are very important to me: that’s why the famous African proverb “alone we go faster, together we go further” is dear to my heart.
