Right Hand Drive Ford F-150

The RHD Ford F150 is a Program where Segula Australia is working with RMA Automotive to deliver the project for Ford Australia to re-engineer and remanufacture the Ford F-150 to right-hand drive for Australia. The project aims to bring the biggest selling global truck to our local markets to compete with the Chevrolet Silverado and Dodge Ram which are already in this market. Segula is bringing its extensive OEM experience to the program to deliver an OEM engineered and validated product.

Project Background

The RHD Ford F150 is a Program where Segula Australia is working with RMA Automotive to deliver the project for Ford Australia to re-engineer and remanufacture the Ford F-150 to right-hand drive for Australia. The project aims to bring the biggest selling global truck to our local markets to compete with the Chevrolet Silverado and Dodge Ram which are already in this market. Segula is bringing its extensive OEM experience to the program to deliver an OEM engineered and validated product.

The vehicle will come in two trim levels, XLT and Lariat, and with a short or long wheelbase configuration. Each vehicle is powered by a 3.5L V6 twin turbo engine and has 4.5t towing capacity. Retail production will start in the second half of 2023.

Program Timing: Project start Sep-2021, Start of Production H2-2023

Program Status: Engineering sign-off complete, current supporting remanufacturing ramp-up

Segula Team: 40+ highly experienced automotive experts spanning Australia, France & India. Over 60,000 design and engineering development hours spent.

 

Engineering Scope: Approximately 1000 parts & assemblies released. Some of the systems affected:

Major changes include: Dash and cowl, Wipers, Brakes, Wiring harnesses, Steering, HVAC, Soft trim, Driver controls, Instrument panel, Console, Seats, Lamps

Consequences of Project

This presents the first Full Service Engineering package for Ford Australia for Segula Australia and its engineering success paved the way for potential future programs within this collaboration. This will be a significant product release to the market for Ford Australia and will provide strong competition for the Dodge Ram and Chevrolet Silverado.
